The Year Ahead
A clash year moves things. The old picture does not say everything breaks when Chou meets Wei; it says arrangements that were already loose get tested. For you the questions are quiet and concrete: is the house still the right shape for the days it now holds, is the care rota fair to everyone on it, are the papers where a helper can find them in a hurry.
The first half brings those questions, sometimes all at once. Around midsummer a clearer option appears, usually the one that keeps your foundations and changes only the roofline. From the ninth month the year steadies.
An Ox that stamps at a fork loses the field, while an Ox that plants its feet, looks both ways and then walks on keeps what matters.
Career
At 126 the word career means the roles you still hold: the family elder, the committee name, the person younger relatives quote. Keep only the roles that give something back, and put a written shape around each one, the hours, the decisions and the person who will take it over. Teach a successor the exceptions, because exceptions are what make an elder hard to replace.
Do not accept a title that arrives with real work attached, and do not let a family business borrow your name without terms. Your value now is judgement rather than stamina, and judgement passes on only when it is spoken or written. Choose the two roles that deserve your name and release the rest politely.
Money
Clash years tempt sudden moves, and this is exactly when the savings of a long life should not move suddenly. Write two simple budgets, one for staying where you are with the help and repairs it needs, and one for any proposed change. Keep a liquid cushion that no family request can reach.
Review the beneficiaries, insurance and property papers, and leave one trusted person a map of where everything is kept. Do not lend money or guarantee a loan, however moving the story, and let no transfer happen on the day it is requested. Lunar months two and eight favour paperwork and decisions; the fifth and sixth run expensive; the ninth and tenth settle accounts.
Numbers first, feelings second.
Love
A clash year brings differences into the open, and in a household that is useful. One helper may want to do more than you want done; one relative may arrive with a plan you never agreed to. Say plainly how much help you want and where your own hand still belongs.
With a partner or the family around you, keep the small rituals that made the decades work: tea at the same hour, the shared programme, the evening call. Old quarrels are not worth a sixth retelling, and the year is better spent saying the warm thing once more. If you are alone, let familiar voices visit often and keep one caller at a fixed hour.
Health
In the traditional picture Xin Metal relates to the lungs and the breath, and Chou Earth to the stomach, the muscles and the knees. An Ox can outlast most things, but this year the body asks for care rather than endurance. Keep meals warm and regular, water within reach and a fixed sleep hour.
Walk on level ground where you can, and let someone else carry the heavy shopping. Cold and damp are this season's enemies, so keep warm and dry instead of proving you do not mind the weather. Spring and autumn are the seasons for check-ups; keep them as your clinician advises and never change medication on your own.
The clash label is not a health warning, but it is a good reason to book the appointment you have postponed.
Lucky Elements
Colors: warm earth yellow and ochre for Earth, soft gold or off-white for your own Metal, and deep blue for Water. Ding Fire controls Xin Metal, so yellow absorbs the heat, off-white keeps your metal bright, and deep blue cools the picture and keeps it flowing. Skip an all-red outfit.
Direction: west and southwest for metal and earth, north for water. A seat facing west and a clear, uncluttered study help an Ox decide well. Numbers: 5 and 10 for earth, 4 and 9 for metal, 1 and 6 for water.
Key lunar months: the 2nd and 8th for decisions and documents; the 5th and 6th for quiet living and light spending; the 9th and 10th for family, travel and settling bills.
Do & Avoid
Do: put every big decision on paper with numbers before you decide; keep a cushion nobody else can touch; give the care rota named owners and substitutes; keep warm, keep walking and keep your appointments. Avoid: changing home and helpers in the same season; stamping at the first obstacle; signing anything under pressure; and treating endurance as a health plan.
The Ox's year rewards the deliberate step. Pick the door you can walk through slowly, and the year opens wider than the clash label promised.
Your Full Report
This page reads your birth year alone: the Metal Ox of 1901 should decide slowly and keep the foundations this year. The full report uses your month, day and hour pillars, plus your birthplace and the historical timezone of your birth date, to correct the solar terms, including the Li Chun boundary, and calculate your personal five-element balance. It maps 2027 month by month, showing which months favour documents and family talks, which run expensive, and which ask you to hold still, along with your strongest directions and balancing colours.
A full chart for two Oxen born in the same year can point them in different directions. The free page shows the shape, and the full report shows you.
