Chinese Zodiac Signs

Your Chinese zodiac sign is only one part of the story

Most people know the animal for their birth year. A full Four Pillars reading also checks your birth month, day and hour, so you may have four different animal signs plus a Five Elements balance.

Enter birth details, then sign in or create an account. One free chart summary per account; no payment needed for that summary. Full reports are optional paid upgrades.

FOUR PILLARS CONTEXT

Most websites only tell you your birth-year sign.

That is useful, but it is only the Year Pillar. Your birth month, day and hour can each add another animal sign, which is why a Chinese zodiac calculator by birth date is more useful than a simple birth-year table.

Where the animal appears matters. Year is the outer layer, Month is work and pressure, Day is closer to self and relationships, and Hour points to private drive and long-term direction. The same Dragon, Rabbit or Horse can feel different when it appears in a different pillar.

The Five Elements also change the reading. A Metal Tiger is not the same as a Wood Tiger, and a Water Dragon is not the same as a Fire Dragon. Element tone, pillar position and Day Master context explain why year-only zodiac answers are usually too broad.

This library is designed as a bridge between common zodiac searches and a full BaZi chart. You can start with the 12 animals, then move into Four Pillars, Five Elements, compatibility, work style, emotional rhythm and 2026 timing without treating one animal as your whole personality.

SEARCH GUIDE

What people usually mean when they search Chinese zodiac

Some visitors want a birth-year answer, some want personality, and some want love, career, health or this year's outlook. Those answers actually live on different layers — year animal, month pillar, Five Elements, annual cycle — and mixing them into one paragraph is how readings lose focus.

This guide separates the questions first, then shows where to look for each one.

Find your birth-year animal

Enter a birth year and the fastest answer is the year animal: it describes first impressions, family atmosphere and public image. But the year animal is only one of four pillars — the same animal in the Month, Day or Hour Pillar carries a completely different meaning.

This year and 2026

2026 is usually called the Year of the Horse, and annual trends are calculated from that year's stem and branch. A real chart still checks birth date, birth time and solar-term boundaries, because dates around Li Chun or a month boundary can belong to different animals.

Love and relationships

For relationships, the animal first gives clues about emotional rhythm, safety needs and communication style: some people need space, others need confirmation. Compatibility cannot be judged from one animal alone — it compares both full charts, their Five Elements and all four pillars.

Career and wellbeing

The animal can hint at work rhythm and pressure patterns — whether someone thrives on sprints or long lines, and where they over-extend. Practical advice still depends on pillar position and Five Element balance, not a one-line verdict about a sign.

Chinese zodiac and Western zodiac

When people abroad search zodiac, they usually mean the Western signs (Aries, Taurus…). GlobalBazi teaches the Chinese zodiac: the twelve animals Rat through Pig.

The two systems are different and cannot be mapped directly onto each other.

What to do next

Start with a free chart and find the animals in all four pillars. Then look at which pillar is strongest and which Five Elements surround it before deciding which direction to read in depth.
